KANAKACHILANKA - THE STORY OF MANU AND PARVATHI

The novel KANAKACHILANKA( the golden anklet) written by Sudhakar Mangalodayam. This novel published first in Malayala Manorama Weekly.The beautiful picturisation of models were the highlight of this novel. MANU Varma,Radheena Raju,Sreeja were the models.Story attracted and discussed by women in almost all locations.
MANU Joseph,a widower lives with his servant  Kolappan in a hilly area( Ooty). He hates everyone and lives in  the memories of his wife Parvathi.  He is a talented singer too. Parvathi was a classical dancer who died due to burns in their residence.  Jiji a cousin of MANU decides to spend her vacation with MANU.

She tries to win his love and finally they get married. At nights she overhears classical music  from the house. Jiji  is disappointed with her husband's unnatural behavior. One day she finds out a secret Nilavara(underground  chamber) inside their bedroom. She opens it and at her surprise,she finds out Parvathi there. Manu confesses before Jiji that  he was madly in love with his wife Parvathi. One day Parvathi met with an accident in kitchen. He with the help of his servant Kolappan, declared Parvathi dead in front of everyone. Kolappan arranged a  dummy of  Parvathi. Manu locked his wife inside the Nilavara. During nights, Manu visits his wife Parvathi.

After knowing everything from Manu, Jiji  decides to make their re union. She  ends her life at the Suicide point in  Kodaikanal.
